Cyber Security Awareness Month - October 2011
Governor Brewer proclaims October 2011 Cyber Security Awareness Month in Arizona

Phoenix, AZ – Arizona Governor Janice K. Brewer issued a proclamation declaring October 2011 as Cyber Security Awareness Month

“The Eight Annual National Cyber Security Awareness Month is being celebrated during October 2011, as a collective effort among the State of Arizona, Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's National Cyber Security Division, the National Cyber Security Alliance and the National Association of State Chief Information Officers.

The month highlights the importance of empowering citizens, businesses, government, and schools to improve their cyber security preparedness. In this digital age, we are all connected; the actions of one can impact many. Thus, it is essential that each of us understand our important role in securing cyberspace.

The simple truth about securing cyberspace comes down to each individual. This year we have adopted the theme "The risk assumed by one is the risk assumed by all". All of us, not just our cyber security teams, or our dependency on anti-virus software, but all of us play a critical role in keeping the State of Arizona and its citizens safe from cybercrime and potential attacks from cyber terrorist.
