NACo Webinar Series: Public Safety Interoperable Communications Background The National Association of Counties (NACo) is sponsoring a series of four webinars on Public Safety Interoperable Communications designed for local government officials and staff responsible for leading emergency response to public threats and disasters. Each webinar is scheduled for Tuesday from 11 - 12:30 PM MST Time. Webinars April 13, 2010: Introduction to Interoperability for Elected and Senior Leaders Staff from US Department of Homeland Security's Office of Emergency Communications will describe the SAFECOM Interoperable Communications Continuum and illustrate the importance of enabling all responders to communicate in real-time. April 27, 2010: Governance for Interoperable Communications at the Regional Level New requirements for governance agreements affect operations of multiple disciplines across jurisdictions. This webinar will look at how to expand existing structures to accommodate regional interoperable communications capabilities. May 18, 2010: Model Practices Engaged by Counties and Cities for Interoperable Communications This webinar features counties and cities with outstanding models for interoperable communications governance, procedures, collaboration and continuous improvement. May 25, 2010: Grants and Funding for Interoperable Communications Attend this webinar to identify sources of ongoing funding for interoperable communications from a variety of sources.
