PSCC Transition
The
FY2009 State budget passed by the Arizona State Legislature and
signed into law by Governor Napolitano
in June 2008 transferred the PSCC from the Department of Public
Safety to the Government Information Technology Agency. This
transfer was made to take advantage of GITA's extensive
experience managing strategic initiatives, partnering with
subject matter experts to build coalitions and delivering
large, complex information technology projects.
During
the window of time between the end of the 2008-2009 fiscal year
and the general effective date of the legislation, DPS and GITA
worked closely to transfer the Office to GITA. The transition
was completed on October 2, 2008.
