Participation in SIEC Workgroups
Overview
The Arizona Statewide Interoperability Executive Committee (SIEC) is a sub-committee of the Public Safety Communications Advisory Commission (PSCC). The SIEC is an advisory committee that advises the PSCC on technical and operational communication interoperability matters. The SIEC also holds authority over 700 MHz, VHF, and UHF interoperability frequencies in Arizona.
The SIEC is currently a five-member advisory committee, representing a cross section of the state’s public safety and interoperable communications community from:
- AZ Department of Public Safety/Wireless Systems Bureau
- County Emergency Management/Public Works
- County Sheriff
- City Police/Communications
- Medical Transport
The SIEC currently has two standing Workgroups. The Technical Workgroup evaluates and provides advice from a technical perspective to the SIEC on issues such as spectrum management and utilization of the Communications Asset Survey and Mapping (CASM). The Operational Workgroup evaluates and provides advice from an operational perspective to the SIEC on issues such as the development of interoperability policies, standards, and procedures, Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), Standard Operating Procedures, training and exercises, and outreach.
Solicitation of Interest
The Public Safety Interoperable Communications Office (PSIC) is soliciting interest in participation on SIEC Workgroups from members of the public safety and service agencies/organizations which it serves.
Meetings of the Workgroups are conducted in person or by teleconference as needed to accomplish the purposes of the Workgroup. The SIEC meeting schedule is posted publicly on the PSIC office website. For more information about the SIEC and its Workgroups, see the SIEC Operating Principles.
