Simply, Better Government through the development of statewide
information technology standards. Standards facilitate commonality and
interoperability promoting the migration from incompatible,
component-based architecture and
independent infrastructures to an integrated system of networked
infrastructure and shared computing resources.
Establish information technology standards that serve as a roadmap
for state agencies to partner with each other to efficiently add value and
improve services to the people of Arizona while also providing efficient
access to information for employees of the state.
The standards development task groups embrace the following core
principles:
GITA acts as the facilitator for creation of
necessary documents.
Success is achieved through the shared
commitment of the subject matter expert(s), task team members, and GITA
staff.
Conflict resolution will be achieved
through a process that includes documentation of the points of
conflict and thoughtful analysis by GITA/CIOC.
In the event task group members fail to
reach a consensus, GITA/CIOC will function as the final arbiter.
Time is of the essence in the
establishment of statewide information technology standards inasmuch
as Arizona citizens deserve Simply, Better Government.
In light of the Vision, Mission and Principles driving the standards
development process, three goals have been identified.
Ensure each new document aligns with the relevant
domain architecture(s).
Incorporate the experience and best practices of other states and
private industry.
Strive for progress rather than perfection, inasmuch as technology
is an ever-evolving industry and even the best standards will always
be temporary. Ensure approved PSPs are reviewed periodically.
