Doing Business with the State

Resources for Companies Offering IT Products & Services

GITA is the primary strategic planning and coordination agency for information technology in the State of Arizona. Though GITA is interested in learning about emerging technologies, GITA does not purchase any software or hardware for the State.

Register with the State

Businesses wishing to learn more about selling products to the State should contact the State Procurement Office. There, businesses can register with the State to receive bids and solicitations from State agencies.

Minority & Women Owned Businesses; Small Businesses

The Governor’s Equity in State Contracting Initiative has valuable information for small and minority owned and women owned businesses.

1.  How do I find agencies that need my products? 

Once you are registered with the Enterprise Procurement Services, consider the following:

-  send an e-mail to CIO Council members with information regarding your products and services

-  partner with companies who have been awarded State contracts in your area of business

-  distribute a short summary of a successful project performed for another governmental entity

-  host an educational seminar on a subject matter of current interest to state customers

2.  How do I get added to a statewide IT contract (i.e., microcomputer, IT consulting, etc.)?

Statewide IT contracts are awarded by competitive solicitation.  Generally vendors can not be added as contractors to existing statewide contracts after award.  Consider subcontract arrangements.  Note: Manufacturers, please see next question.

Each statewide and agency specific contract is different.  Please review the contract covering the kinds of products you offer. If you have any questions regarding whether your product lines are or can be added to a contact, contact the contract’s procurement officer.
